You're listening to the my morning Devotional podcast, episode 1008. Today's Devo is called Holy Spirit Activate. Hey there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:22.309 --> 00:00:33.250
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Good morning, everybody.
00:00:33.362 --> 00:00:40.625
I love this title. Holy spirit activate. It is so fun. My name is Stephanie Muena, and I am here with my sister, Lauren.
00:00:40.649 --> 00:01:20.944
Alessi. Hello. And you have shared two incredible podcasts about peace yesterday and on Monday. So we pray that you guys are all being touched by these podcasts. But we did some research, yes. That we want to mention, and we looked at where most of you guys are listening to us from, and we saw that the United Kingdom is number two. I can't remember what else, but because Lauren mentioned on Monday a fun fact about Italians, we're dedicating this devo to our italian listeners, who are number twelve on the list of listeners. So what's up?
00:01:21.024 --> 00:01:23.924
Bonjourno. Ciao. Piace.
00:01:24.623 --> 00:01:35.944
Love the food. Love your food. No, but thank you so much for listening to us. That is. That just means the world, literally, for you guys to be tuning in and to be constantly, continually listening to us.
00:01:36.063 --> 00:01:39.480
So, Italians, this one is for you. Lauren, you ready?
00:01:39.591 --> 00:01:46.603
Yes, I am ready. To the Italians. Sonostres. I'm stressed, but. No, I'm kidding. I'm totally kidding. I'm at peace.
00:01:47.183 --> 00:02:19.831
Yes. This one's called Holy Spirit activate. And I'm going to read from Romans 1417. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. And first, when I read this verse, I was thinking of that it's one of my favorite songs, and it's by Ron Canoli. And it goes, righteousness, peace, joy in the Holy Ghost. Okay, so that song has been stuck in my head all morning, but I think it's important to remember that there's the kingdom of God and that's heaven, and then there's the kingdom of God here on earth. Right?
00:02:19.888 --> 00:02:29.840
So then how do we, like, we have this image of what heaven's going to be like, and then there's a kingdom of God that we operate here on earth, and that's with each other as Christians. That's, you know, with our community.
00:02:29.951 --> 00:02:40.647
On Sundays at church and so that's a good distinction to make because this does talk about, for the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, joy in the Holy Spirit.
00:02:40.776 --> 00:02:59.424
Either way, the kingdom of God is not a matter of joy and peace through the world's pleasures. So we don't find joy and pleasure and peace through the world's pleasures. We find it through God's pleasures. And what are those? Righteousness, peace and joy. And since this is a week on peace, we find it through peace, but through God.
00:02:59.584 --> 00:03:53.018
Okay, but how do we find those righteousness, peace and joys through God's pleasure? It's through the Holy Spirit. And that's why I say, okay, holy Spirit, activate. Because I think this is such a tricky, this can go so deep. It's like you had said this last week, where it's like, how do I make such a complicated subject so simple and sweet? We gain righteousness, peace and joy through the Holy Spirit. Those are the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Some of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. And if you're not feeling that in your life, that's a prayer that you need to make between you and God and make it in your personal time. Okay, am I operating in the Holy Spirit? And maybe that's a question you need to ask yourself now. Like, am I operating in the Holy Spirit? How is my relationship with the Holy Spirit? I remember one time we were complaining about a friend to my grandmother, and this was a childhood friend, and she goes, has he accepted the spirit into his life? And we were like, whoa, I actually don't think so.
00:03:53.066 --> 00:04:42.641
She goes, he does not sound like a person who's operating in the spirit of God. We were like, wow, you are absolutely right. And she made such a complicated issue, so simple and sweet, and I think that's whether you have accepted the Holy Spirit. Okay, are you operating in the fruits of the spirit? Are you asking the Holy Spirit, because he is a counselor, are you asking him to, to operate in you on a daily basis? And that's where righteousness, peace and joy, gentleness, you know, love, joy, peace, self control, that's where all of those things are added to your life, because those are the fruits of the Holy Spirit. But I think that's important to remember that one. There's a kingdom of God in heaven, but there's a kingdom of God here on earth. And we operate in those things by finding God's pleasures through the Holy Spirit. And what are those pleasures? Righteousness, peace and, and joy. And the other fruits of the spirit. And I think that's important to remember.
00:04:42.778 --> 00:04:46.129
That's really good. Lauren, can you pray us out? Yes, of course.
00:04:46.322 --> 00:05:43.653
Dear Lord, we thank you so much for your holy spirit, God, and the wisdom it imparts into us daily. God, we thank you that we don't follow the world's pleasures, Lord, because quite frankly, Lord, they're fleeting. But, Lord, we thank you for the pleasures you want to grant us, God, such as peace, such as righteousness, and such as joy. And, Lord, I pray for every person listening and even for myself, God, if there's any area that I'm not operating or that we're not operating by your spirit, God, show us how to operate by your spirit. God, give us wisdom, God, give us peace. Grant us joy with your holy spirit. And we pray this in your name. Amen. Amen. So there you have it. Your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend.
