You are listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1156. Today's Devo is called How Will this Be? Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:21.881 --> 00:01:28.659
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Happy Monday, everybody, and good morning to all of those listening. I will be your host for this week. My name is Lauren Alessi, and I'm really excited to host this week because last week you had my sister Gabby talking about a little bit of the Christmas story. And I will be continuing on talking about the birth of Jesus Christ. And it's really a simple story, but tis the season, you guys, and it's always so deep and so powerful whenever we talk about it. Before we start reading, though, I do want to thank everybody who participated in the Buy me a Coffee and who commented, who reached out, who donated. Thank you so much. It's so cool to know that there's really a community of people out there that you guys are listening, even if you're just commenting. Just thank you so much. We really appreciate the feedback. Always comment, always, like, always do anything. We just really, really appreciate the feedback. All right, so let's dive into the Word. Today we'll be reading out of Luke 1, 30, 38.
00:01:28.826 --> 00:02:31.787
And I always like to read out of the ESV Bible. It says this. And the angel said to her, do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son. And you shall call his name Jesus. And he will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give him to the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. And of his kingdom there will be no end. I absolutely love Mary's response here because it's so relatable and it's so human. Listen to what she says. And Mary said to the angel, how will this be since I am a virgin? And the angel answered her, the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, your relative Elizabeth, in her old age has also conceived a son. And this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren for nothing will be impossible with God. And Mary said, behold, I am the servant of the Lord.
00:02:31.931 --> 00:03:09.675
Let it be to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her. This story is so simple. We hear it every year. And when I say simple, it's simple in the fact that we just get used to it and we quote it all the time. But when you really read it, it's like, this story is crazy, you guys. Like a young girl, an angel appears to her and says, you're going to give birth to the Savior of the world. And I love her response. She goes, hey, angel. Like, how's this going to happen? How will this be? Because I'm a virgin. And when we were reading this story, we wanted to call this episode How Will this Be?
00:03:09.715 --> 00:03:24.067
Because so many of us face things in our lives where maybe you do ask God, why me? But maybe the major question you're facing is, how will this be? Maybe you have a dream and desire on the inside of your life, and you're like, I want to accomplish this. I want to do this.
00:03:24.131 --> 00:03:50.705
But your main question you're asking God is, how will I accomplish this? How will this come to pass? Maybe you're facing a major sickness. Maybe you're facing. Maybe you really need healing and you don't know how you're going to combat that. And God promises healing. But your major question is, but, Lord, how will this come to pass? How will this be? How will you bring healing in my life? There are so many times we face this question in our lives. And I love how the angel answers Mary.
00:03:50.745 --> 00:04:04.971
He says, the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Can I just say to all those listening who are facing this question today, just know this. The Holy Spirit comes upon you, and the power of the Most High overshadows you.
00:04:05.122 --> 00:04:19.615
I wish I had an answer for every how will this be? How will this look like? How will I get healing? How will I get this major dream or desire or all? How will I have children? How will I get married? I wish I had an answer for you. But know this, you're not alone.
00:04:19.915 --> 00:06:09.214
Because the Holy Spirit is upon you, and the power of the Most High overshadows you. And listen to Mary's response. Behold, I am the servant of the Lord. Let it be to me according to your word. Let it be me according to your word. So let that be our response when we have questions. How will it be? Just know the Holy Spirit is with you. You're not alone. There are also others with you asking the same question, but also let our response be, you know, God, let it be me according to your words. And I just pray that during the Christmas time, if that's your question, if that's what you're facing, let that be your prayer. And you know what? Let's close this episode out with that prayer. Dear God, we thank you so much for Mary, God, and the inspiration she has been to so many. Not only women, but just people. God, thank you for using her to carry the Savior of the world, God, but also God, just her humanity and the inspiration that she was to us today. God, I pray for every listener hearing this story, God right now asking Lord, how is it going to happen, Lord, how will it be? How will it come to pass? And God, I just pray right now that the Holy Spirit and the power of the Most High just completely comes over them with peace and rest, healing and restoration in Jesus name, God, and let their prayer be in response to you, God, let it be me according to your will, God. Not my will, but thy will be done in Jesus name. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend, leave a comment or review for us on the app you're using right now.
