How does understanding Jesus’ sacrifice influence your daily actions?

In today's episode, titled "Legacy", Richelle reminded us of the profound love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which allows us to live beautifully redeemed lives. Reflecting on the verse from 1 John 4:9-11, we were uplifted by the truth that we are all part of Jesus' legacy. His ultimate sacrifice not only gave us a story but also the responsibility to keep His story alive for future generations.

So grab your coffee, settle in, and let's get inspired together. Let's make sure your latte is strong, but your love for Jesus is even stronger!

You're listening to My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1170. Today's Devo is called Legacy. Hey there. We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.359 --> 00:01:23.475
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning everybody and Happy Friday. We've made it to the end of the week and I really hope that this week has blessed you. I wanted to end this week with a beautiful verse found in 1 John 4, 9, 11 and it says, this is how God showed His love among us. He sent his one and only son into the world that we might live through him. This is love. Not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son as an anointing sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. This is such a beautiful, beautiful verse because it truly shows us the love of God and the true love that came through his sacrifice, that he died for us so our sins will be forgiven and we could live a beautiful life.

00:01:23.628 --> 00:01:49.120
The reason why we could celebrate this past weekend in such a beautiful way is because of the sacrifice that Jesus made years ago. And as I started to think about more about this verse, it made me say we have learned so much about the generations of Jesus in the other episodes and this week we learned a lot about the prophecies that were fulfilled and how amazing that was.

00:01:49.500 --> 00:03:10.912
And we are legacy of that because we are, we are God's children. So I know on Wednesday I said let's keep these stories alive in our homes. And guys, this is our story too. Jesus story is the reason why you and I have a story today. Because he came and did the ultimate sacrifice. You and I can stand today and say we have a story too. We are redeemed because of Jesus. And the story is not just because of everything that I've accomplished, but that story that I have is because of everything that Jesus has redeemed in my life. Because the sacrifice that Jesus made, I get to have a story. And I am part of Jesus legacy. And just like we're going to keep Jesus legacy alive and we're going to talk about him during Christmas and we're going to tell these stories to our children. You never know when your children will be your age telling their children about you and how you kept the story of Jesus alive and the stories that they learned from you about Jesus and that would be a beautiful thing that carries through your family. And so just be encouraged today that because of Jesus you have a story too. So Jesus has a story and now you also have one because of him. So let's pray.

00:03:11.056 --> 00:03:18.127
Dear Father God, thank you. Thank you for your sacrifice of love. Thank you for loving us first.

00:03:18.264 --> 00:03:25.584
And now we get to love you back, Lord. We get to experience you. We get to have a beautiful relationship with you. Father.

00:03:25.711 --> 00:03:55.551
You've redeemed so much in our lives that now we promise to keep your legacy and your story alive in our homes. And we praise you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. 00:03:55.656 --> 00:04:00.319
Until tomorrow. We pray that your latte is strong, but your love for Jesus is stronger.
