You are listening to the my morning devotional podcast, episode 1116. Today's Devo is called Let Go. Hey there.

00:00:11.454 --> 00:00:41.170
We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Hello, everyone. My name is Lauren Alesi, and it feels like it's been a while. And so I will be your host for this week, and I am super pumped to be here.

00:00:41.710 --> 00:00:52.725
This episode and this week is kind of the theme of, like, control and contentment. And so I'm really excited to just join you all, and I'm excited to have you join me for this week.

00:00:52.838 --> 00:01:25.652
So happy Monday, and let's get started. The verse of the day for today, this Monday is Isaiah 1424, and it says this, the Lord of hosts has sworn, as I have planned, so shall it be. And as I have purposed, so shall it stand. So, as I said, this episode is really all about control and releasing control. And this sort of inspired me, because years ago, maybe six, seven years ago, my I aunt gave me.

00:01:25.796 --> 00:02:12.556
I don't know if you remember those giving keys. I don't know if it was called giving keys or receiving keys. I don't remember what it was. I think I'm getting a nod. It's called the giving key. And it was a necklace that had a key on it, and everyone had a different word on it or a different engraving. And the one my aunt gave me said, let go, which is the name of this episode, let go. And when I received it, because the whole point of a giving key is you receive it, and then when it's time, you feel like you've done the purpose of the giving key, you release it to somebody else who sort of needs that same message. Obviously, I did not do a very good job because recently I found this necklace, and I've held onto it for a very long time. So when I first received this necklace, I kind of chuckled because I'm like, I don't struggle with releasing control.

00:02:12.627 --> 00:02:37.948
I don't struggle with letting go. And I think that was in my immaturity. And as I've gotten older, I realized, wow, I really do struggle with being in control. I really do struggle with releasing control and trusting God and his plans and his purpose for my life. And I think that's just a very human struggle. And so I think we all kind of struggle with releasing control and trusting God with his plans for our lives.

00:02:38.123 --> 00:02:41.319
So that's kind of what this verse is all about.

00:02:41.780 --> 00:03:00.153
I have this tendency to believe that my plans are the best, that my plans will work. But the truth is, in the Bible it states that only God's purpose will stand. So I have to align myself with God's plans and God's purpose. We all have to align ourselves with God's plans and God's purpose.

00:03:00.322 --> 00:05:03.541
So maybe today you're struggling like me and you're struggling with releasing control to God. Can I encourage you just to pray and ask God to help you release control? Or maybe you're like me when I was a little young and immature and you're like, I don't know if I struggle with control. I don't know if I struggle with releasing control to God. Pray this anyway. Lord, search me and know my heart and see if there's any offensive way in me and lead me in the way of the everlasting. And let God reveal to you if that is an area that you struggle with. I pray that we're all encouraged by one thing, that we all have one thing in common, whether we struggle with taking the lead and being in control or whether that's not a struggle for us. We all have one thing in common. We are not in control of our lives anyway and the purpose of our lives. And that's what Isaiah 1424 is saying. God is saying, as I have planned, so shall it be. And as I have purposed, so shall it stand. So God is in control of our lives and we can trust that he has everything worked out and work together for his glory and for our good. So let go and trust God and let's pray. Dear God, I just pray for everyone listening to this prayer this Monday morning. God, I pray that if they're struggling releasing control, God, I just pray that you speak to their heart and you show them God, not just spiritually, but physically and practically in their everyday lives. Show them how to release control and surrender to you, God, if they don't know whether this is an area that they struggle with, God, I pray that you search their hearts, God, and you show them whether this is an area that they struggle with. And God, I just pray for every person tuning in today, God, and every person in this room, Lord, help us to release control to you and fully submit and surrender our lives to you, God, not just for the sake of patting ourselves on the back, God, but truly giving you glory in Jesus name we pray to. Amen. So there you have it. Your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
