00:00:29.675 --> 00:02:03.939
Good morning everybody and happy Tuesday. Welcome to another episode of my Morning Devotional podcast. I am Rachelle Alessi, and I get the privilege of being with you guys this week. Today's podcast is going to be fun because it's called My Fruit List. And at first I thought it was going to be a little bit of a weird title, but I was like, I'm just going to go with it. Because this verse, Galatians 5. 22, is such a beautiful, beautiful verse because it talks about the fruit of the Spirit. And maybe some of you grew up in church, maybe some of you didn't, but you remember learning about the fruit of the Spirit and all the things that if you're in a relationship with God, you should be producing. And as a kid, there are songs that you sing to remember these. And I feel like once you start to grow older as an adult, I personally sometimes forget about this verse because this is actually not as easy as it seems. But I think these are good things that we should keep in mind this year, that if we have the Holy Spirit in us, we should be intentional about remembering the fruit of the Spirit, because if we're ever operating in something that is not us or it doesn't feel right, we remember, oh, maybe I'm just not operating in the fruit of the Spirit. And it's something that we have to be intentional about. So let's read it. And it says, but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such things, there is no law.

00:02:04.480 --> 00:03:00.451
And I love this because we can all say there's moments where we have no joy, when we really don't have peace about something, when we are running out of patience, where kindness is not something that is just naturally coming out of us, when we honestly don't feel like we have to be faithful or don't have the energy to be faithful anymore. There are moments where things have been so hard that you just want to go do something that's kind of rash to put your mind away to just not think about what you're going through. And we forget about self control because things just happen and we forget that these are things that we have to operate in. But I just encourage you today that if the Lord and the Holy Spirit lives in you, you have the ability to produce this fruit. And if you look at all those things, Jesus is the perfect example of all these things.

00:03:00.635 --> 00:03:19.033
Jesus loves you. He's love. He brings joy. He is peace. He has been patient with you and me. He's kind towards us. God is. His goodness is following us. The Bible literally says the goodness of God follows us everywhere we go. Faithfulness. He's faithful to us.

00:03:19.122 --> 00:04:17.939
He's gentle. The Lord has self control. He died on the cross for us. Imagine the self control. The Lord have to have to do what he did for us to have it today. And I just remind you that if you're a child of God, then you have these things. You just have to kind of take them out and be like when you grow grocery shopping, there's things that you put in your list all the time. You have your basics, the things that you cannot live without. Because there's meals that you cook every week and there is things that your kids eat every week. And no matter what, those things have to be in your pantry. And this is the same similar with this, joy and peace and kindness are not things that just naturally are born. They're things that we have to go get, things that we have to go fight for and say, I'm going to have this because this is part of the ingredients of my everyday life that I cannot live without. My house cannot live without joy.

00:04:18.439 --> 00:05:18.293
My house cannot live without peace. I have to be kind, I have to be patient. I have to be faithful and be gentle. Because those are things that makes my house. And the great thing is that even when you don't feel them, the Lord has them for you, which means you don't have to act by your feelings. You don't always have to feel them to be able to do them. If you don't feel kind, maybe that's the moment that you need to go and do an act of kindness to somebody you love. If you're not patient, maybe that's the moment that you stop and you encourage yourself in the Lord and patience comes. If you are feeling a little sad, then maybe you go and find your joy in the Lord. You turn up a worship song that it's about joy and you worship God and you thank God and you let joy be reborn and come up in your Spirit. And if you're struggling with peace, then I pray that you remember that God is the Prince of Peace peace and that he wants to give you that peace.

00:05:18.422 --> 00:05:51.990
A peace that passes all understanding. All these fruit of the Spirit are for you and you can obtain them today and this week and this entire year. So let's pray. Dear Father God, thank you because you are these things first, Lord, you never ask us to do something or be something that you are not, which means we are able to have it and be it. I pray that this week our listeners can walk in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

00:05:52.290 --> 00:06:22.053
I pray that they also see these things in their life, Father, that you are modeling these things for them and because of that they can go and walk these things out. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
