Now…Let God

Now…Let God

What does "nothing is impossible with God" mean to you, and have you seen this in your life?

Today we have a special devotional titled "Now Let God." In this episode, we dive deep into the powerful message found in Job 42:2, exploring how God’s purpose for our lives remains unshaken regardless of our circumstances. We reflect on the importance of relinquishing control, making plans for the future, and ultimately trusting that nothing is impossible with God.

You're listening to the my morning Devotional podcast, episode 1118. Today's Devo is called now let God. Hey, there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Happy Wednesday, everybody. Again, my name is Lorna Leslie, and I will be your host for this week, and it has been really fun so far. We've talked about letting go of control, and we've talked about making plans for the future and not being afraid to do that. But now we're gonna finish off with giving it all to God. So we've let go.

00:00:52.473 --> 00:00:59.954
We're making plans now. We're letting God take control. So the verse of the day is job 42 two.

00:01:00.002 --> 00:02:16.774
And it says, I know that you can do all things and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted. Interesting word there. You don't hear thwarted a lot in every single day talk. But I love this verse because, one, it's found in Job. It's one of, honestly, my favorite books of the Bible. Just because it's really challenging to read and to sort of put yourself in Job's shoes will really humble you. But I love that this is found in Job. And Job 42, where we pick up is where Job has really just let it all out there to God. He's vented all his feelings out because Job has lost everything, like, literally everything. His family, his home, his workers, his farmland, his animals, everything. And he's vented to God. His friends have also vented to Job. He's disagreed with some of them. But he comes back around in Job 42, and he says, it starts off by saying, job's repentance. And Job is saying, lord, I know that you can do all things and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted or changed. And I really love that. And let's just meditate on this for a second. Let's meditate on the fact that God can do all things and nothing is impossible for him.

00:02:16.972 --> 00:02:27.110
Job here is saying this after he has lost everything, and he's still glorifying God in the fact that nothing is impossible with God.

00:02:27.530 --> 00:02:30.961
He's saying, I know that you can do all things.

00:02:31.145 --> 00:02:34.737
Maybe today that just needs to be your prayer and your focus.

00:02:34.873 --> 00:02:42.430
So let's meditate on that for a second. Maybe we just need to say, lord, I know that you can do all things.

00:02:43.099 --> 00:02:57.400
Two, let's meditate and let's think on this. God's purpose cannot be changed. And Job is also saying this again. He's lost his family, he's lost his children, he's lost his, essentially, job.

00:02:57.979 --> 00:03:08.895
And somehow he's finding the words and the strength to say, but I know your vision and your purpose for my life cannot change after it seemingly looks like it all just changed.

00:03:09.068 --> 00:03:34.099
And we always jump to the end of the story where we're like, yeah, but job, you know, he got everything back, and it's beautiful. But in this moment, job was in the pits, and he somehow found the strength to say, lord, even now, I know your purpose cannot change. So let's think about that for a second. There's nothing you or me or anyone around us, any circumstance in our life.

00:03:34.530 --> 00:03:38.018
There's nothing that can change God's purpose in our lives.

00:03:38.153 --> 00:03:48.937
Not politics, not a timeline, not a circumstance, not anything around us, not other people, not a family member.

00:03:49.114 --> 00:05:07.338
If God has placed a purpose in your life, which he has placed a purpose in all of our lives, because that is the promises found in his word, if he's placed a promise and a vision and a purpose over your life, there's nothing we can do to change that. So we've let go of control, and we understand that only he can bring it to pass. We're making plans for the future because we're good stewards of what God has given us. But now we're letting God take the reins, and we're trusting that nothing is impossible with God. So let's pray. Dear God, we thank you so much, God, that you are just so magnificent and so glorious. God, and that nothing is impossible with you. And, Lord, we just lift you up and glorify you this Wednesday morning, God. And we just thank you that, God, if you've placed a purpose and a vision in our life, a purpose to prosper us and not to harm us, a purpose to give us a hope in a future that nothing can change that, Lord, not an unbeliever, God, not a person in our lives who causes us harm, God, nothing can change that. And we thank you for it. And we give you glory in advance. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
