You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1131. Today's Devo is called oh My Soul. Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.809 --> 00:01:06.069
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning. Happy Monday, everybody. If you're listening in the morning, if you're listening in the afternoon, good afternoon. Or even maybe in the evening, you're catching this episode a little bit later. It is a new start to the week and we've got brand new episodes. And I'm really excited for this week because we're continuing on now that we're in the month of November and we're in the season of Thanksgiving. Now we're getting into a reading plan and just reading these different scriptures about thankfulness and how to be in a place, how to have a heart of gratefulness. I'm your host, Gabby, for the week.

00:01:06.156 --> 00:02:31.281
Stephanie killed it last week. She did an amazing, amazing job. So I'm going to be taking it on from here and I'll be sharing a couple of chapters of scripture this week. But I do want to say, if you're a planner like me and you are saying, I love these devos, but we want to follow along. I want to follow along. I want to know exactly what scriptures you're going to be reading every day. We are doing something special for you that we're actually going to post on our Instagram today all of the scriptures that we're talking about this week. So if you're the planner in the room, go ahead, go to our Instagram. You can save it. You can go ahead and actually save it on like the little bookmark pin. Save that post and you can follow along with us every day this week. But today we're going to be reading from Psalm 103 and join me in this. We're going to read this entire chapter. So let's do it together. Psalm 103 says this. This is a psalm of David. Praise the Lord my soul, all my inmost being. Praise his holy name. Praise the Lord my soul and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things. So that your youth is renewed like the eagles. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.

00:02:31.432 --> 00:03:12.663
He made known his ways to Moses his deeds to the people of Israel. The Lord is compassionate and gracious. I believe that's a word for somebody today. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever. He does not treat us as our sins, deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

00:03:12.838 --> 00:03:53.104
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. For he knows how we are formed. He remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass. They flourish like a flower of the field. The winds blow over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting. The Lord's love is with those who fear him and his righteousness with their children's children, with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. The Lord has established his throne in heaven and his kingdom rules overall.

00:03:53.405 --> 00:04:04.247
Praise the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. Praise the Lord all His heavenly hosts, you, his servants, who do his will.

00:04:04.390 --> 00:05:03.300
Praise the Lord all His works, everywhere in his dominion. Praise the Lord. My soul, what a beautiful chapter today, man. I just. I can just feel the presence of the Lord even as we just remember and we go over how the Lord's love, nothing can separate us from it, as far as the east is from the west. That God isn't always an accuser. He's not always holding judgment over us. That there is a day where he is compassionate upon those that he loves. But can I tell you, and I think this is a great reminder for us today, that the thing that he's mentioning here that David keeps repeating is that God is close to those who fear him, that obey Him. And so, as we go into this season of thankfulness, let's praise the Lord with our mouth, let's praise the Lord with our actions, let's praise the Lord with our fear and reverence unto him. And let's praise the Lord with our obedience to him. Praise the Lord.

00:05:03.413 --> 00:05:17.564
O my soul. Maybe you need to pull up that elevation song Praise right now on your way to work. After you listen to this. Listen to that song and let that be your anthem today. Praise the Lord. O my soul. Lord, we thank you for today.

00:05:17.685 --> 00:05:28.690
We praise your name, God. We thank you that you have separated us from our sin, God, that you have separated us from our transgressions, Lord, and that you are a compassionate father unto us.

00:05:28.802 --> 00:05:50.651
And we praise you for it, Lord. We just even pray over this week, God, that we, we come upon all of the challenges that are coming up this week. Whatever's happening in our lives this week, even what's happening in our country or in our nation and in our world, Father, that no matter what we see, no matter what we sense, no matter what we might be feeling, we praise your name. In Jesus name we pray.

00:05:50.762 --> 00:06:12.995
Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
