Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of John 16:22 which says "So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy."
"Sometimes grief is one of the hardest feelings to understand. The lingering whys, and the pain that you feel in the pit of your stomach. The fear of the unknown. The longing to just speak to someone one more time.
Grief can come in many forms.
Yesterday my best friend lost her dad. She said something that resonated with me. In her pain she said, I don’t need prayers, they didn’t work. I know a lot of us at times can feel as if our prayers don’t work. I just want to remind us all that prayer reminds us that no matter how painful this side of eternity it, prayer helps us in remembering that Jesus is right by our side through it all.
I know this was a tough year and we all have grieved a little differently. Hold onto the promise that in the world may seem as if it ending in the middle of your grief, but you will one day rejoice, and your joy will be back soon."
