00:00:04.136 --> 00:00:07.565
Today's Devo is called Peppermint and Prayer.

00:00:08.464 --> 00:00:29.635
Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast.

00:00:30.135 --> 00:00:44.634
Good morning, everybody. Happy Friday. And we are past Thanksgiving, so all I want for Christmas is you to listen to our podcast during the month of December.

00:00:45.295 --> 00:01:10.748
We are in Christmas season, baby. We made it. If you're one of those that likes to wait till Thanksgiving to pass to celebrate Christmas, then good morning, it's Christmas time. And tomorrow you will be receiving a gift from your My Morning Devotional ladies from my sisters and I on our YouTube page. So go subscribe, mark your calendars, put an alarm on.

00:01:10.837 --> 00:01:22.173
Tomorrow morning, you will be seeing a gift from us to you. Happy early Christmas. Tune in to our YouTube page. You will love what we have for you all.

00:01:22.308 --> 00:01:41.129
And again, if you are loving these Bible verses that we have read throughout the month, please let us know, text us and share with us any of your fun holiday stories. Any testimonies from Thanksgiving, we want to hear from you. We want to connect with you. So please share.

00:01:41.296 --> 00:01:56.631
But I'm going to continue in James 5. We skipped over James 4, so go ahead in your personal prayer time. Go and read James 4. But I'm going to continue in James 5, which says, now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because.

00:01:56.703 --> 00:02:11.622
Sorry, it starts off a little sad, but let's just push through. Weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth has rotted and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. Ooh.

00:02:11.718 --> 00:02:15.526
You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look, the wages you failed to pay.

00:02:15.550 --> 00:02:19.139
The workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you.

00:02:19.227 --> 00:03:18.002
The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. Don't worry, guys, it's going to get much better. You have lived on earth in luxury and self indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the innocent one who was not opposing you. But be patient then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop. Patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm because the Lord's coming is near. Don't grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door, brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. Above all, my brothers and sisters. Do not swear.

00:03:18.139 --> 00:03:25.414
Not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple yes or no. Otherwise you will be condemned.

00:03:26.115 --> 00:03:43.694
Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.

00:03:44.155 --> 00:03:58.055
The Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

00:03:58.354 --> 00:05:12.375
Elijah was a human being even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed and the heavens gave rain and the earth produced its crops. My brother and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this. Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins. Amen and Amen. James is one of my favorite books of the Bible and I want to go back to what it says in verse 13. Let them pray. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. This is my encouragement to you guys. We're going into the holiday season, and this is the best season of the year for some, and it could be the worst. But this is the best way to step into it with prayer every morning. Prioritize your prayer life. Ten minutes doesn't take that much, five minutes. But go into your room, lock the door, get on your knees and pray.

00:05:12.834 --> 00:06:00.954
Pray for your friends that are going through sicknesses. Pray for your family that's going through struggles Pray over your finances, Pray over your children, Pray over your spouse and pray. Pray earnestly. Your prayers are heard from God above. In fact, the second you pray them, God is already working on your behalf. This holiday season when you partner the holidays and the joy of the holidays with faith and with prayer, watch it be the best holiday season you ever live. Because it's a Holy Spirit filled holiday season. So like I named it Peppermint and prayers as you're drinking your peppermint mocha, pray and bring the Holy Spirit into your home as you celebrate the Christmas season.

00:06:01.495 --> 00:06:12.495
And yesterday we celebrated a beautiful Thanksgiving. But there are more holidays to be celebrated ahead of us. So fill it up with the Holy Spirit as you decorate your house.

00:06:12.615 --> 00:06:16.095
Decorate it with prayers and with the Holy Spirit.

00:06:16.254 --> 00:07:33.995
Let's pray right now, God. We pray right now that the holy holiday season, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be Holy Spirit filled. That whatever it is we're facing, whether it's sickness, whether it's financial woes, whether it's contentiousness in the household, we pray right now that you hear our prayers and you bring peace. You bring healing, you bring faith to our household that this holiday season will be joy filled. That we will see miraculous healings, we will see deliverance, we will see your providence in this holiday season. God, I'm ready to see our my morning devotional community bring us testimonies of how faithful you are to them. God, I'm ready to see them show us stories of your deliverance and their families and that they text us brilliant and amazing testimonies of how good you are to them and their families. God, you are faithful to us and you're faithful to complete what you started, God. And this holiday season I am declaring peace in their households, healing in their bodies, and just the most joyous holiday season in their families. In Jesus name we all pray. Amen and amen. See you tomorrow.

00:07:34.535 --> 00:07:38.023
So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven.

00:07:38.158 --> 00:07:55.365
