You're listening to the Miami Devotional podcast, episode 1127. Today's Devo is called Prepare with Praise. Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:21.600 --> 00:01:19.855
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Tuesday. My name is Stephanie and I am continuing our series in gratitude. And like we did yesterday, we're going to continue reading scripture and searching the scriptures for ways we could be grateful to God. And so many different men and women in the Bible wrote psalms and verses all about praising the Lord and being grateful to the Lord. So we want to open up our day by reading scriptures about praise. And again, keep out your notes. Keep out a little sticky note and write down things that come to your mind that you remember to be grateful for. It could be something as small as the breakfast you had this morning, the birds that came past your window, or it could be something as big as your family and your home.
00:01:19.974 --> 00:01:38.862
Whatever it is, write it down and thank the Lord for it. So let's dive into Scripture. Daniel 2, verse 20. And the NIV says, Praise be to the name of God forever and ever. Wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons.
00:01:38.998 --> 00:02:08.658
He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep, hidden things. He knows what lies in darkness and and light dwells with him. I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors. You have given me wisdom and power. You have made known to me what we asked of you. You have made known to us the dream of the king. And then we're going to hop over
00:02:08.787 --> 00:02:42.151
10, which says now, when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room, where the windows opened toward Jerusalem three times a day. He got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. Now, if you don't know the story of Daniel, Daniel was about to receive some serious persecution from the king. But the king was getting these weird dreams at night, and he needed somebody to interpret the dreams for him. So Daniel stepped up, saying, I can interpret your dreams.
00:02:42.342 --> 00:02:53.414
So before he was called into the throne room with the king, he prayed to God and he praised God for how mighty God was to come through for him.
00:02:53.574 --> 00:03:08.110
I don't know what it is you may be facing today, but if you are under pressure, if you are under stress, pause everything and start to praise God. And praise will prepare you for whatever it is you're going to face.
00:03:08.263 --> 00:03:22.344
Daniel was about to go before the king to interpret his dream, and before he did that, he praised God. He went up into his room and he got on his knees and he prayed to God, giving thanks to Him.
00:03:22.685 --> 00:03:33.884
That's what you need to do before you go up against any giant. Go up against anything that may be difficult. You just need to praise God and He will prepare the
00:03:33.925 --> 00:03:45.094
28 says and we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
00:03:45.435 --> 00:04:11.157
Scripture says that when you just cry out to God, when you praise him, when you thank him, when you lift up his name, when you glorify him, when you make him the center of your life, God will work for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. He will work for you and he will make it work out for your good.
00:04:11.341 --> 00:05:16.865
So just like you have been writing down those things that you are grateful for, make it vocal. God, I thank you for my family. I thank you for my spouse. I thank you for my workplace. Even if it's difficult, even if it's stressful, even if the season is confusing, I thank you. You work all things out for my good and I stand in faith believing that. And I thank you. No matter the circumstances, no matter what I'm walking through, I pause it all and I thank you, knowing that my praise will prepare me for any situation I face. And in Jesus name I pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
