You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1129. Today's Devo is called Remember to Return. Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Thursday. My name is Stephanie and I am so excited to continue on in our series of gratitude. We are reading straight from the Bible. No made up words, no poems from another author, no book quotes. This is straight from scripture, which is tried and true. It's the best of the best that we can get when it comes to gratitude and praise and thanksgiving. So we're praying that, and we hope that it is uplifting you, that it is guiding you to truth, that it is motivating you to get further and deeper into your word. Because I promise you, if you need to hear the voice of God, if you need direction in your life, there is no better place to go to than the Bible. Pick up your Bible and read. And if you don't know where to start, then we can start today in Luke 17, 11, 17. This is the story about Jesus healing the 10 men with leprosy. So read it with me. I'm reading out of the NIV version. Verse 11 says, now, on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, 10 men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, jesus, master, have pity on us.
00:01:50.305 --> 00:02:08.402
When he saw them, he said, go, show yourselves to the priests. And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan.
00:02:08.579 --> 00:02:12.115
Jesus asked, were not all 10 cleansed?
00:02:12.235 --> 00:02:19.218
Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner? Then he said to him, rise and go.
00:02:19.347 --> 00:02:22.014
Your faith has made you well.
00:02:23.155 --> 00:02:33.414
I love this story. I love this verse because it is a reminder to all of us that when God blesses our lives, we need to remember to return.
00:02:33.754 --> 00:02:55.508
We need to remember to pause our day for 10 minutes, to get on our knees and to thank God for the ways that he has blessed us. If you are married today, there are a lot of unmarried People that are praying to be in your position. So that is your reminder to return to Jesus and to say thank you for my marriage.
00:02:55.676 --> 00:03:49.859
If you have children today, even though it is hard and exhausting, there are a lot of people that wish they were in your position. So that's your reminder to return to Jesus and to say thank you. If you have a job, if you have a home, if you have food on your table, that alone is a reason to return to Jesus and to thank him for how he has blessed you. Some of you have walked through some incredible healing stories where God has healed your body, he has healed your mind. Don't forget to thank Jesus every day for how he has healed you. Can I tell you the enemy's number one job is to simply distract you from going back to Jesus. It's to simply keep you too busy so you forget to go back to Jesus.
00:03:50.026 --> 00:04:40.964
Sometimes he just is there to make you forget about how Jesus has blessed you. Well, don't let the enemy win today. Remember to return to Jesus. Get on your knees tonight, this morning, wherever you are, and thank Jesus. You can even be in your workplace right now. Just close your eyes and say, thank you Jesus for all you have given me. You have blessed my life. You have healed my heart. You have healed my mind. And I thank you for all you do. Let's pray together. God, we thank you for all that you have given us in our life. We pray that we maintain a spirit of gratitude every minute of the day, every hour of the day. Whoever we are with, remind us to maintain the spirit of gratitude because you have done so much in our lives.
00:04:41.084 --> 00:05:17.845
You have blessed us in every capacity, in every way. Even in the areas we haven't even seen yet. You have blessed us. So we thank you and we worship you and we praise you. And in Jesus name we all pray. Amen and Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend. Leave a comment or review for us on the app you're using right now. Until tomorrow. We pray that your latte is strong, but your love for Jesus is stronger.
