Seen And Heard

Seen And Heard

Have you ever felt so moved by something God has done in your life that you couldn’t help but share it with others? In today’s episode, host Gaby Alessi invites us to explore the inspiring boldness of the early disciples, diving into Acts chapter 4 to see how what they had seen and heard made them unstoppable in sharing their faith. Together, we’ll reflect on the miracles we’ve witnessed, the testimonies we’ve heard, and ways to let those divine moments fill us with courage to speak out about God’s goodness.

Join our community as we pray for reminders of God’s faithfulness and for the same fearless spirit to tell our own stories, encouraging one another in daily devotion.

00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:21.239
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1254. Today's Devo is called Seen and Heard. Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.359 --> 00:00:40.036
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Well, good morning everybody. Hope you guys are having a great morning so far. Gabby, your host for the week. And this has just been such a blessing to be on the podcast this week.

00:00:40.188 --> 00:00:54.088
And I hope you guys are enjoying it, I hope you're receiving from it. And also I just hope that the Lord is just doing a work in all of us and that he is speaking to us and exposing things or encouraging things that you might need, whatever it is.

00:00:54.204 --> 00:01:41.400
I pray that the Lord is doing that this week. I'm going to talk a little bit about boldness today. And we, we talked about it day one or day two, but we're going to jump over to Acts, chapter four. So we're going through the beginning stages of Acts and the story after Jesus had ascended, basically looking at what the disciples did. And we have to understand that at this point in time, the disciples would have been the most on, on fire for the Lord that they have ever been. Imagine you just went through seeing your teacher, but also friend and guy that you gave your life to die. He was put in a tomb. We all saw it. They all understood that this was the end. And then we heard the tomb was empty.

00:01:41.819 --> 00:01:45.396
And then we saw Jesus again with the holes in his hands.

00:01:45.587 --> 00:01:48.760
And then we saw him ascend into heaven.

00:01:49.219 --> 00:02:00.203
All right, if you saw this, you would quit your day job, you would drop everything and start to share this good news with everybody that you know.

00:02:00.371 --> 00:02:48.129
And so that's where the disciples are at. And so what happens is they go on and they're filled with the Spirit and the spirit inside of them is, is moving them and, and putting them in different rooms and is, is empowering them to do things. Well, those things that they do are not very popular. I mean, that's what got Jesus killed, right? So this is in Acts 4, you're seeing Peter and John. They actually get taken, they get arrested. One of the many times that they get arrested. And in verse, let me pull it up here, because this is really powerful. All right, in verse 16, we see that they're with the Sanhedrin. And the Sanhedrin actually says, what are we going to do with these men? Because what's happening is they're.

00:02:48.210 --> 00:02:55.681
Peter and John are on fire for the Lord. They have this gifting. And then the. It's stirring up the crowd. The, the Jews are angry about it.

00:02:55.705 --> 00:03:06.545
But then there's other, these Gentiles and these other people that are starting to believe and they're starting to be like, what are they preaching? So it's really stirring up the waters. And the Sanhedrin at the time is like, what is happening?

00:03:06.657 --> 00:04:11.840
What are we going to do with these men? And in verse 20, I want to read this, it says this as for us context here in verse 20 or verse 19, the Sanhedrin's like, we don't know what to do with you guys. We're gonna have to ask you guys to please stop going around and preaching. You guys are causing problems. They were trying to shut them up. And in verse 20 they respond saying this, as for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and what we have heard. There was a boldness in these men because of what they had seen and heard. Because of what they had seen Jesus do and what they had heard God do. They were like, we can't just stop talking about this. We can't just stop sharing this. And this is a boldness that I learned from. And I want in my life today that I want to look at the things that I have seen and heard and, and respond in a way of I can't stop because of what I've seen. I want to ask you this question. What have you seen God do in your life?

00:04:12.699 --> 00:04:59.062
Just simply answer that. What have you seen God do in your life? What have you heard God do? What have you heard him do in other people's lives? What have you heard him do in your life, man? There's a girl in our church that God healed her of cancer. It was the worst of the worst scenario. And. And God healed her and touched her life and she is healed of it and whole. That is something that I heard God do and I saw it, but that's something that I heard that God can do. When I look at what I've seen and when I look at and think about what I have heard, I can't help but speak about it. I can't help but share it. And I think this is a great reminder. Think about what you've seen God do. Think about the things that you have heard and go on sharing. Don't let people stop you.

00:04:59.165 --> 00:05:35.716
Don't let yourself stop you from sharing those things. What have you seen? What have you heard? And let's keep talking about it. Lord, I pray that you would show us what we've seen. Remind us of what you've done for us. Remind us of what you have done in the past. Remind us. God, Easter was the ultimate reminder of what you have done. And I pray that this would give us a boldness like it did your disciples to go on speaking. We won't be silent about it. We won't pull back. We will continue to speak on about what you've done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen and Amen. So there you have it.
