You're listening to the MIAM Morning Devotional Podcast, episode 1130.
00:00:04.121 --> 00:00:06.964
Today's Devo is called Sticky Note Friday.
00:00:07.985 --> 00:00:29.184
Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast.
00:00:29.565 --> 00:00:33.253
Good morning everybody and happy Friday. We made it.
00:00:33.348 --> 00:00:51.901
It has been a beautiful week of reading scripture together, all pointing back to gratitude. I really pray that this has blessed you. Listen, I have been a Christian almost all of my life and I still have to motivate myself to go to the Word to read the Bible. Make it a daily practice.
00:00:52.052 --> 00:01:17.405
So if you have read the Bible every single day this week, then you have done so much more than the majority of people. So congrats to you. You made it. Every day you have listened or read a piece of scripture and trust me, you will start to feel the effects of that very, very quickly. It is God's living word, so it is. The best cup of coffee you can have in the morning is the Lord's word.
00:01:17.564 --> 00:02:46.206
So let's dive into it. I called this one Sticky Note Friday because the weekend can be full of fun things and you may forget to go to your Bible. So my challenge to you is to take your favorite verse that we read from this past week, just two verses, and write it down on a sticky note and put it on your mirror in your bathroom, right above where you brush your teeth, or put it where you wash the dishes, or put it right next to your laptop when you're at work, wherever you know you're going to see it every day. Put your favorite Bible verse to motivate you. And that is the Sticky Note Friday. Little challenge to carry you throughout the weekend and to keep you motivated to read your Word. But let's dive into the Word. Today we are reading from 1st Chronicles 29, 1022. I'm reading for the NIV version. This one's a little long, so open up your word. Open it up on your your phone. Let's get to reading. Verse 10. David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, praise be to you, Lord, the God of our Father Israel. From everlasting to everlasting yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor for everything in heaven and earth. Is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you.
00:02:46.350 --> 00:03:04.247
You are the ruler of all things, and your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks and praise your glorious name. But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to give as generously as this?
00:03:04.431 --> 00:03:30.769
Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow without hope. Lord, our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your holy name comes from your hand. And all of it belongs to you. I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity.
00:03:30.937 --> 00:03:34.561
All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent.
00:03:34.712 --> 00:04:00.413
And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you. Lord, the God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever and keep their hearts loyal to you. And give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion to keep your commands, statutes and decrees, and to do everything to build the palatial structure for which I have provided.
00:04:00.588 --> 00:04:07.661
Then David said to the whole assembly, praise the Lord your God. So they all praised the Lord, the God of their fathers.
00:04:07.772 --> 00:04:11.402
They bowed down, prostrating themselves before the Lord and the king.
00:04:11.588 --> 00:04:37.367
The next day, they made sacrifices to the Lord and presented burnt offerings to him. A thousand bulls, a thousand rams and a thousand male lambs, together with their drink offerings and other sacrifices in abundance for all Israel. They ate and drank with great joy in the presence of the Lord that day. Let's pray together. God, you are good. You are mighty.
00:04:37.511 --> 00:04:44.790
Yours is the kingdom. Yours is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor.
00:04:44.942 --> 00:05:36.002
Everything in our lives first came from you. Even on the bad days, we remember. You gave us life. You gave us breath in our lungs. We have a heart that's breathing. As long as I'm breathing, I'm going to praise the Lord with everything in me, because you deserve that praise. And Father, even if life doesn't look how I want it to look, you still are good. You are still on the throne. And that's why I worship you. Because you are immovable. I may be movable, life may be movable, but you, Jesus, are not movable. You are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. So if my days have highs and lows, I can trust you. To be exactly who you have been since the beginning of time and today.
00:05:36.139 --> 00:06:09.464
So I worship you God and I thank you Father and I glorify your name all day long, all weekend long, and I make you the center of my life. And in Jesus name I pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend, leave a comment or review for us on the app you're using right now. Until tomorrow. We pray that your latte is strong, but your love for Jesus is stronger.
