You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1149. Today's Devo is called Thanksgiving Day. Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida.

00:00:14.576 --> 00:00:29.545
And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast.

00:00:29.925 --> 00:01:42.194
Good morning, everybody and happy Thanksgiving. I am so excited for today and I'm also excited for Saturday because again, we have our big gift to you all on our YouTube page. So go ahead and subscribe because I cannot wait for you to see what we have planned for you. And again, if any of these Bible verses have encouraged you, please text us so we can be in communication with you. And we want to see what has impacted you the most. We want to hear your stories. But let's dive into it, everyone. Today is a beautiful day. It's Thanksgiving Day. So no matter what it is we're facing, we're going to believe that it is a beautiful day. And I'm sure right now you're getting ready to see family and friends and eat a whole bunch of delicious foods. I don't know why we don't make that food on a day that's not Thanksgiving. But whatever it is what it is. I mean, I would love some sweet potato casserole in July. I don't know. I don't know what it is that you may be facing today. Maybe you're celebrating because God has answered your prayers. Or maybe you're waiting on God to come through for you. Or maybe it's both. Here's a verse I wanted to read to you. Psalm 27.

00:01:42.614 --> 00:02:04.484
It says, I remain confident of I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. This is my encouragement to the My morning devotional community. Today you are going to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

00:02:05.545 --> 00:02:08.564
Fear is real. Disappointment is real.

00:02:08.995 --> 00:02:20.055
Sickness is real. The uncertainty is definitely real, but it cannot thrive when you believe that you are walking in the land of the living.

00:02:20.794 --> 00:02:53.865
And guys, when you start to see yourself in the land of the living, joy springs up in you. Gratitude. It becomes easy. Unity starts to happen between you and your family and friends. A new peace comes over you. You laugh more. You're not easily offended. You're stronger mentally and your Faith gets stronger. So that's my encouragement to you today on Thanksgiving. Believe that right now you are in the land of the living. If you're with family, have fun.

00:02:54.405 --> 00:03:01.705
Don't get into any disagreements or issues. Like I said before, those will be there tomorrow, those will be there next year.

00:03:02.164 --> 00:03:12.944
So just ignore it. Have fun. Be thankful to everyone. Be kind, be agreeable, be helpful and loving and be like Jesus to your family.

00:03:13.525 --> 00:03:20.664
And if today you don't have family or friends that you're going to see, I want to encourage you. You are not alone.

00:03:21.284 --> 00:03:32.215
First of all, the Holy Spirit is there with you. The Holy Spirit is within you. But a little tip, call up a homeless shelter and see how you can serve other people.

00:03:32.675 --> 00:04:16.125
Two days ago, we read about loving others how we would like to be loved. We'll serve others how you would like to be served and be around people. Go take some friends and see a movie. Go look at the Christmas lights and believe that in everything that you do today, you are in the land of the living. You know, all of us are facing so many different things, but here's something that we all have in common. We have Jesus. And that alone is the greatest thing to be thankful for. So let's pray. God, thank you for the wonderful lives we get to live for. More than anything, thank you for making life better. You give us hope. You give us strength.

00:04:16.245 --> 00:04:23.735
You give us faith. Jesus, you're a kind friend and counselor. You're. You're my healer. You're my provider.

00:04:23.894 --> 00:04:46.668
You saved us and you've forgiven us. You called us out of the darkness and gave us a whole new life. So for that, Jesus, we thank you. We thank you so much. So let today be an unforgettable day of joy, gratitude and peace. And we believe that we are in the land of the living. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

00:04:46.846 --> 00:05:10.704
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. We love you. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
