00:00:29.679 --> 00:02:37.439
Good morning, everybody. Happy Tuesday. Welcome back to another episode of the My Morning Devotional Podcast. My name is Allison. If you don't know who I am, I'm the founding host of the My Morning Devotional Podcast and it is an honor to be with you all last week and this week as we kick off the new year. Today we're going to be. In Proverbs chapter 16, verse 9, it says, in their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. And I labeled today's devo the Plans we plan because the plans we plan are great. I think that God really wants us to plan, right? We're not supposed to just walk around aimlessly or just, you know, day by day. Kind of like not have vision for our life. God wants us to have vision. We're here to work. It's something that I learned two years ago. I took a break from my, my job. I don't know if you guys remember, but it was when my dad had a really bad relapse and my grandfather was really sick. So I took a break from working. And, and in those five months of my break, I didn't have much to do. And then I. I kind of felt like I was not, you know, quote unquote rotting away, but I didn't have much stimulation going on. And in that I had no, like, vision for my life. I didn't have direction on what I wanted to do. I didn't have direction as to where I wanted to get back to in work. And it really took a toll on me as a person, something that I'm still feeling this day two years later. It really affects us because having a plan, having goals, having a vision for your life is necessary now to that point, God also comes in and establishes our steps. We have vision for our life and we want our goals and our plans to play out exactly how we have them envisioned. And the reality is that God, he establishes our steps and so he may take our plan and he may see our plan, and he may love our plan, but it doesn't mean that our plan is going to come to fruition the way that we have it set. Last year, I launched the business in January. I talked to my husband about it. We came up with the idea. We said, by March, we're going to have the product in our hand.

00:02:37.560 --> 00:02:41.120
Not true. The product didn't come into my hand until closer to June.

00:02:41.240 --> 00:03:30.770
We said, by August, we're going to launch and it's going to be successful. And we did. That was great. That happened. Check. But guess what? The first round of product went out and we got feedback. So it wasn't perfect. It needed to be redone. So now we're working on a second iteration of our product. We had to work on the adhesive, we had to work on the packaging so that it would be more clear and concise and it would work and not leave sticky residue. It's a mouth tape, by the way, to sleep at night. But all, all of these things changed our plan. Now, God gave us the plan in the beginning of the year, last year to launch this business. And what we thought was going to be the finish line in August and September was the starting point. God was going to continue to refine it. So I say all this because it is a new year. We do have plans, we do have goals, we have dreams.

00:03:31.110 --> 00:04:58.942
But I don't want us to get fixated on our timeline, on execution. I don't want us to get fixated on what we think is supposed to happen is going to happen. Because the reality is that when we plan, God says, good, but I have better plans. I'm going to either play this out or I'm going to open a door so much faster than you could have even imagined. We have to trust him in the process. That he's bringing the right people into our lives, that he's directing us in the right direction, that he is the one who establishes our steps. So plan your life. Have vision for 2025. Have goals and set. Have a harvest that you want to walk in. But don't get stuck on the time or the timeline because God is going to establish your steps. Be fluid, be flexible. Be willing to let him direct you. So the prayer for today, Father God, we thank you, Lord, for this Tuesday. We thank you that you establish our steps. We thank you that when we plan, you are happy. You want us to plan, you want us to work, you want us to have purpose, you want us to have vision. But we also need to be fluid and flexible. That sometimes a door may close, but it doesn't mean that the vision or the goal and the plan that we have is over. It just means that you have another direction for us to pivot towards. And we are going to be looking for open doors.

00:04:59.005 --> 00:05:27.987
We're going to be looking for the right people. We're going to be listening to you. We're going to be praying. We're going to be focused on what you want and where you want us to go. We plan and then you pivot. We plan and then we listen so that you can establish our steps so we can continue to follow your wish for our lives. And we thank you for that. We thank you that everything we do, we first bring it up to you. We thank you that everything we plan for you have better and bigger plans for for us.

00:05:28.124 --> 00:05:54.021
So we take that with all the encouragement to continue to have vision for our life, to continue to have vision for 2025. We love you and we pray this in your mighty name. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
