The Prayer of Faith

The Prayer of Faith

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of James 5:13-14 which says "13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord."

"Here are some four ways you can apply prayer and worship in your daily life.

  1. Worship in the Car - this is one of my favorite times to do so. Just me, God, and the open road. Maybe you’re never in the car alone, that’s okay, play worship music with your loved ones. It allows the room for the entire family to partake in a nice worship session.

  2. Read Your Bible - read stories and do the SOAP method. It’s kind of what we do here. SOAP stands of Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer - It’s good to clean yourself every morning, or right before you go to bed. I know this devotional was created and works for us because we are busy people, but maybe you can try and find one night of the week to reading scripture on your own. This leads me to point number 3.

  3. Schedule Your Time -  This right here will save you so many hours. It will help you take bake the time you spend aimlessly scrolling, or watching TV. Block out your schedule, put locks on your apps. Hey, I have a 1 hour time block on Tik Tok. I needed it. It’s okay to come to those realizations. If you play video games, the same thing applies. If you have a schedule and a routine it’s hard to break it. Every morning I wake up at the same time, and I produce this show. It’s a daily habit at this point.

  4. Pray before bed - make it a habit to say the words, “Jesus, thank you for everything you did today, I love you” right before you go to bed. It doesn’t have to be a long prayer, just enough where you know and are constantly reminded of who protected you all day and who gives you breath in the mornings.
