The Way

The Way

Are you navigating life on the right path?

In today's episode, host Richelle Alessi joins forces with her husband Chris Alessi to explore the essence of walking in "The Way" as part of our faith journey. Reflecting on scripture from 2 Peter, Chris passionately discusses how having an effective faith opens an entrance into God’s eternal kingdom. He emphasizes the singular path to the Father, underlining the clarity and confidence that comes from choosing Christ. Richelle and Chris break down complex spiritual concepts into simple, relatable analogies like choosing the right ‘car’ at the concert of life, advocating for an unwavering commitment to the one true way.

Tune in for this enlightening devotional, where Chris offers a prayer of gratitude for the clarity and peace that comes from following the path laid out by divine guidance.

You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1217.

00:00:03.951 --> 00:00:06.740
Today's Devote is called the Way.

00:00:07.519 --> 00:00:25.757
Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven.

00:00:25.903 --> 00:00:37.137
This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody, and welcome back to My Morning Devotional Podcast. It's going to be an amazing week. My name is Rachelle Alessi and I'm here with my husband Chris.

00:00:37.234 --> 00:01:03.642
What's up? And if you did not get a chance to hear yesterday's episode, I would definitely recommend go back and listen because this week we're talking about having an effective faith. And I brought the big guns, like Gabby said last time, to share about this topic because I believe that it's going to bless you. So Chris takes it away. Well, thank you for having me again. And if you're listening yesterday and today, thanks for listening to both days. My mom says my voice gets annoying. No, I'm just kidding.

00:01:03.706 --> 00:01:10.969
But you know, this is something that we just continue to process in our ministry in our home and to kind of continue from. From

00:01:11.010 --> 00:02:36.840
10, just a couple verses down says, therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling an election, for if you practice these qualities, you will never fall. And the qualities he's talking about are the ones we read yesterday from verses 6, 7 and 8. But I like verse 11 here because it says, for in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Now, the thing about this verse that's interesting is it essentially does break down kind of one side of the extreme. Like if, because yesterday we talked about one side which is being ineffective and unfruitful, but then you have on this side. No. Like, what does an effective faith provide? Well, it provides an entrance into God's eternal kingdom. But the words that really speak to me here are for in this way. And I don't think people realize that, like, there is only one way to the Father. Now, most of the time when we talk about that, we're doing it in a way that's very like, hey, if you're a part of other faiths, or if you're not following Christ, you're not going to heaven. And I hate to be this bold about It. But according to scripture, that's true. And I believe that the thing that makes it exciting for me is if I'm in Christ, then I know I'm in the way. And there should be a boldness and a confidence that comes on me to help other people.

00:02:37.539 --> 00:02:51.858
Because I am being rewarded or I am being granted provided. Like this Bible verse says, an entrance into the eternal kingdom because I'm in the way. And that's one of the coolest things. It's like, you know what? Yes. Maybe the person.

00:02:51.913 --> 00:03:24.288
Maybe you're out there and you need to know, like, there aren't other ways to the Father. There just aren't. According to scripture, it's very, very clear. And that should excite us because now we know the way. Now I know how to get there. I can't kind of cut up scripture to create kind of my own vision board of truth. It's like, no, it's all laid out right here. But because it's all laid out right here, I can be confident. It's kind of like when you pick your outfit the night before you wake up the next day. Just more confident because it's already figured out. And I feel like we should already have this figured out.

00:03:24.343 --> 00:03:35.183
Like, I am provided an entrance into God's eternal kingdom. Not because of me or anything that I've done, but because I chose God. I chose Christ.

00:03:35.271 --> 00:04:00.090
I chose the way. And just real quick, the word election there throws people off. And it can get confusing. And it can make some people think that, like, God chose some people from before. And I think the right way to look at this from my own study is if you look at two or three different cars, like, if you're all leaving a concert and there's three or four different cars, and you say, this car's going to McDonald's, that car is going to Burger King, and that car's going to Wendy's.

00:04:00.830 --> 00:04:26.860
You know where they're all going. But you get the choice to pick where you want to go. And in the same way, I believe that that's how election works. We already know that those who put their faith in Christ will go to heaven. Now it's on us to choose whether or not we pick Christ. And so in this way, I can lock in in faith and know, oh, man, I picked the right car. I love that.

00:04:26.899 --> 00:05:06.838
Because sometimes we think that understanding this, it's so complicated. And I think the world today has made it seem more complicated than it is. Like, well, which way is it and how it's supposed to be? But there is one way, and the Bible is very clear about it. And God is clear because he wants us to live an effective faith, an effective life, not just in heaven, but here on earth. Like, he's that good that he wants us to have a great life here on earth. And so if we're not having one, we just kind of need to check are we in the right way, what do we need to shift? Because God is going to make it clear for us because he loves it that much. Amen. Can you pray for us?

00:05:06.894 --> 00:05:25.237
Absolutely, Father. I just thank you for the way. I thank you for the confidence and the peace that can come on us because we're in the way. We thank you for providing a way for all of us, a way to truth, Lord, a way to be found if we feel lost.

00:05:25.293 --> 00:05:35.733
And all of that is in Christ. A way to see if we've been blind. And that's all in your son, Christ. So we thank you for the way. In Jesus name we pray.

00:05:35.781 --> 00:05:57.990
Amen. So there you have it, your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
