You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1132. Today's Devo is called Think on these Things. Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:22.609 --> 00:01:29.063
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Well, happy Tuesday, everybody. Gabi Alessi back here as your host for the week. And I'm just so enjoying being on this show today and to be with all of you guys, I think it's just, it's a really good time to think on the things of God's word. You know, it is Tuesday, and for those of us here in that live in America, if you're listening from America, it is a very pivotal day for all of us. And there's a lot of stress that can happen on a day like today. But I truly believe it's the perfect day to talk about the goodness and the faithfulness of our God. You see, maybe you don't even live in America. Maybe you live somewhere else. You live outside of the States and you're facing something that's just as stressful, that's just as intense and just as frightening or maybe nerve wracking as things might be over here. And I think today is a beautiful day to think about the goodness and the faithfulness of our God. So we're going to read
00:01:29.118 --> 00:01:47.271
4, and we're going to read a couple of passages of scripture here. Remember we said it yesterday. If you do want to go and read along with us, Save the Scriptures, head to our Instagram. We posted all of the scriptures we're going to be reading from this week yesterday, so save it. Read along with us. But this is
00:01:47.302 --> 00:01:54.033
4, and it says this. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again.
00:01:54.168 --> 00:02:16.284
Rejoice. Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything. This is our prayer today. Do not be anxious about anything. But in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, that's like the secret ingredient with thanksgiving.
00:02:16.694 --> 00:02:27.694
Present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
00:02:27.854 --> 00:03:48.655
This is the part I love of this verse. It says, finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, Whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me or seen in me, put it into practice and the God of peace will be with you, man. This is the verse of the day. This is the verse, the message for all of us. Whatever circumstance that you are in right now, whether you're in a storm, whether you're in a waiting season, maybe you feel like you haven't heard from God in a few days, months, weeks, I don't know, maybe you haven't heard from God in years. Whatever you are walking through today and you are facing, let the God of peace be with you. You know, like I said, this is a. This is a stressful day for many of us. This is the Tuesday that we don't look forward to because we have to now wait to hear about the results, or we're waiting for what's going to happen to our nation, what's going to happen to all of us. And. And sometimes we're not worried about our nation. Sometimes we're worried about the relationships and the people around us, because politics can so invade our space relationally.
00:03:48.814 --> 00:03:52.591
Politics can. Can become a part of every conversation that we're having.
00:03:52.742 --> 00:04:02.175
Politics is a part of every family dinner that we're having. And. And we just feel like, oh, my gosh, we don't know what the result is going to be by the end of the day or tomorrow, and what's going to happen here. And.
00:04:02.254 --> 00:04:31.997
And if you're like me, that rabbit trail, it goes fast and it's hard to stop. But this is where we just need to be reminded of these words that the God of peace will be with us and that we can think on these things. So today, what I'd like to do as the ending prayer is instead of just praying these words over you, I'd like to sing these words over you. I believe that this is the perfect verse and these are the perfect words for whatever we are facing today.
00:04:32.151 --> 00:05:04.735
And actually, my sister Stephanie, you've heard from her. Her and my mom, they wrote a song all about and based on Philippians 4. And so I'm going to take that song and I'm going to sing it over you right now. Whatever is true, whatever is noble, Whatever is righteous, Whatever is pure, Whatever is lovely, admireable.
00:05:06.995 --> 00:05:42.805
Think on these things, whatever you're doing today, Whatever you're facing. Think on these things, whatever is true, whatever is lovely, Whatever is admirable, Whatever is pure, whatever is noble, whatever it is, anything that is praiseworthy. Think on those things today and with a grateful heart. With thanksgiving, let's praise the Lord today in Jesus name. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
00:05:42.925 --> 00:05:58.064
