Unwavering Faith

Unwavering Faith

Ever wondered what it truly means to hold onto unwavering faith, even when the odds seem against you? In today's episode of My Morning Devotional, host Gaby Alessi dives into the story of Abraham, a biblical figure whose faith stood strong against all doubts. Through the lens of Romans 5:20-22, Gaby explores how Abraham's belief in God's promises became his righteousness, despite the seemingly impossible promise of becoming a father of many nations. Drawing parallels to our own lives, she reminds us of the importance of steadfast belief in our promises from God, staying hopeful even in challenging seasons.

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1232. Today's Devo is called Unwavering Faith. Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida.

00:00:13.928 --> 00:00:28.914
And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast.

00:00:29.042 --> 00:00:35.789
Well, good morning, good afternoon, good evening. For those of you that are listening, we're so glad that you are back on this incredible Tuesday.

00:00:36.090 --> 00:00:39.554
Believing today is going to be a day of breakthrough.

00:00:39.682 --> 00:00:54.274
Believing today is going to be a day of healing, of a good doctor's report, of financial freedom, of a door opening that you've been praying for and answered prayers. I don't know who needed to hear that, but I'm believing that for you today.

00:00:54.442 --> 00:01:05.602
I'm Gabby Lesie, your host for this week, and I'm excited to jump into this topic about unwavering faith, because I'm believing that whatever, we're just declaring whatever I just declared over you,

00:01:05.706 --> 00:01:38.796
20, verse 22 says this. No unbelief made him waver concerning the promises of God. But he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was, and this is in quotations, counted to him as righteousness. Now, for those of you listening, does anybody know who we are talking about in this verse when we say that no unbelief made him waver?

00:01:38.987 --> 00:01:42.156
Can you guess who we're talking about now?

00:01:42.308 --> 00:01:53.165
Hopefully you have an answer. You can't Google. You don't have enough time. You're driving, so don't pick up your phone. But if you guessed Abraham, you would be correct. Ding, ding, ding. Congratulations, everybody.

00:01:53.278 --> 00:03:00.243
We're talking about Abraham in the Bible. And here this is Paul talking to the Roman people and he's saying that no unbelief made Abraham waver concerning the promise of God. If you know the story of Abraham, God gave him a promise. God gave him a promise in a season where there was drought for his life, meaning God promised him. Abraham, you're going to be the father of many nations. You're going to have a son, and that son is going to have multiple children. Your descendants are going to be as numerous as the stars. Your descendants are going to be as numerous as the sand on the seashore. This was a mighty massive promise that God made to Abraham in a season that his wife was barren. And what the verse here is saying, what Paul is saying is that Abraham, he had no unbelief. No unbelief made him waver concerning that promise. Why? Because he was strong in his faith and he gave glory to God. He was fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.

00:03:00.372 --> 00:03:04.199
You see this word waver. Another word for it is tremble.

00:03:04.699 --> 00:05:28.288
And I think this is really interesting because we don't really know in the Bible, it doesn't really say it. But I bet Abraham probably had a second thought or two or moments with his wife Sarah where he's like, man, do we really think. Do we really think God's gonna do it? I mean, it does say in the Bible that Sarah laughed. That Sarah laughed when she heard the angel of the Lord say, you're going to have a son. His wife literally laughed at the report of the Lord, which is wild to us. So, you know that they had to have had some conversations of man. You really think God can do it? But those conversations, it didn't get rooted in their heart. It didn't affect their faith, and it didn't cause them to stop believing. You see, they believed God. Abraham believed. He was fully convinced that God was going to do what he had promised. And I think for you and I today, this is such a great lesson. Because there are many people, there are many of us that are believing in a promise from God that God gave you a promise or God gave you a desire. And you are believing for God to bring it to you, to make it come true and make it come to pass. And we have to remember that our belief and our faith in God is so important in this season. You see, we have to hold on to the promise of God. We can't waver in our promise. We can't waver in our faith. We can't tremble in our faith and start to doubt if God can do it. We have to be fully convinced that God will do what he said he is going to do. And that we will be counted as righteous. That faith will be counted to us as righteousness, just as it was counted to Abraham. We have to stay believing. We can't quit now. We can't come this far and be like, well, God, I guess if it's not now, then it's never. We don't hold the time. We don't hold tomorrow. We don't know what's coming in the next day, next week, next month. What we do know is that God gave us a promise. What you know is that God made you a promise. God gave you a desire. God gave you a calling, a dream, a vision. And so all we can do is have faith that he's going to do it. So if God made you a promise, hold on tight. Wait on him. He will come through. Don't act on your unbelief.

00:05:28.463 --> 00:05:32.031
Keep your belief. Act on your belief.

00:05:32.175 --> 00:05:39.791
Read the words of life in the Bible. Speak life and do what you can do now. What is it that you can do now?

00:05:39.896 --> 00:05:46.819
What can you start working on towards that dream that builds your faith, that elevates your faith.

00:05:47.240 --> 00:06:28.182
Don't lose hope today. Don't lose faith. Don't lose hope. Your belief. We're going to believe that God is going to do what he promised you. Father, we thank you for today. We thank you for your promises. We thank you for your word. We thank you Lord, that you have placed this dream and this desire on our hearts, the deepest parts of us, God and Lord, we are not losing hope. We are not losing faith in you, God. We trust in you because we know you, Father. And we believe you are going to do what you promise promised us. And Lord, all of this faith will be counted to us as righteousness. Father, you call us righteous for the faith that we have in you.

00:06:28.286 --> 00:06:57.485
So continue to build our faith. I speak life and I speak faith over every listener right now. Lord. Don't let them stop today. Don't let them lose hope today. Don't let them run out today or quit today. Today is the day for renewed faith. Today is the day for new energy in their faith, Father, because we are going to see the promises of God in the drought that we might be in. We will see the promise of God. In the name of Jesus, I pray.

00:06:57.598 --> 00:07:19.620
