You're listening to the my morning Devotional podcast, episode 1001. Today's Devo is called up to no good. Hey there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:22.309 --> 00:00:40.890
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Happy Monday, everybody. My name is Lauren Alessi. I am joined today by my sister, Stephanie Alessi. Good morning, Steph. I am so good. I'm very good. Thank you.
00:00:41.002 --> 00:01:12.743
Good. We've been talking about this week, and I know you have some awesome verses. Lined up for us. Would you like to start it off for us? Let's go. So, of course, my devo is called up to no good. But let me clarify. The no is not an N o, it's a kno w. So I'm up to knowing good. That's what it is. I just heard this pun. I thought of it and I thought, that's a great little devo title. So it's all about wanting to know the goodness of God.
00:01:13.203 --> 00:01:35.652
I want to know the goodness of God. If you were to look up the word good in the Bible, you would find it used in so many different circumstances. And I even that song, your goodness is running after. It's running after me. The goodness of God is special. And my prayer lately has been God. I want to see your goodness.
00:01:35.787 --> 00:01:49.730
I want to know your goodness. I want to be able to see your goodness in the areas that are not even good. You know, one, thessalonians five eight says, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
00:01:49.921 --> 00:02:04.093
God's goodness. If I can be thankful to him, and if I can rest on the good things that he's done in my life, I can find it in the secret crevices of my life. Personal talk. I have people in my life who frustrate me.
00:02:04.634 --> 00:02:37.216
I have things in my life that frustrate me. We all do. I can have days that I really want to redo. I have days that I don't want to be living. Not that I don't want to be living, but I have days I just don't like. Yeah, it's like those days you don't want to live out. Those days you don't want to live out. There's people I don't want in my life. Yes, I have prayed for some people for God to take them elsewhere out of my life and they frustrate me, but somehow they still stay in my life. There are certain circumstances that I have to be in.
00:02:37.400 --> 00:02:55.544
However, if I take a minute to step back and see the situation from the perspective of God's goodness, then maybe that person is in my life for a reason. Maybe that circumstance is in my life for a reason. And maybe that person, in that circumstance, God sees it as good.
00:02:55.704 --> 00:03:03.044
Where I'm calling it a frustration, where I'm calling it a setback, where I'm calling it a hindrance, God's calling it good.
00:03:03.343 --> 00:03:28.659
And the only thing that gets me on that same plane as God is being grateful to God, being grateful to him for any circumstance, for any person, even the person that is rude to me, the person that frustrates me, that sets me back. If I can be thankful even for that person, then I could see that person as good. You know, my dad, Pastor Steve, he spoke in his message this past Sunday.
00:03:28.852 --> 00:04:38.875
If God isn't going to deliver me from it, then he's going to deliver me through it. And how does God deliver you through it? By you recognizing God's goodness in this situation, it is very easy for us to look at our situation and call it bad. But maybe that is God's way of strengthening you. Maybe that is God's goodness in your life. So my prayer today and your prayer today should also be, God, let me see your goodness in every situation when the people that I work with and the people that I'm related to and the people that I do my life with, God, the people that frustrate me, maybe this is your goodness in the workplace that I'm in, with the tantrum throwing toddler that I may have with the husband that I'm trying to work with, that I'm trying to get on the same page with, with whoever it may be. If it's frustrating me, God, I pray that you show me your goodness through all of it, because your goodness is perfect and your goodness is pure and there is nothing like his goodness. So I encourage you today, find God's goodness.
00:04:38.980 --> 00:04:46.732
Pray for God to open your eyes to see his goodness in all areas of your life. Yeah, I love that, Steph.
00:04:46.788 --> 00:04:57.451
I love that. Will you pray us out? Let's do it. God, we thank you for every situation. Every circumstance, every person, every family member, every co worker.
00:04:57.588 --> 00:05:56.750
God, we pray for everybody that you. Have placed in our life because that is your goodness. If you have placed it in our life and we have prayed it away. But it is still there. Then maybe you are using it to teach us something. So, Father, our prayer is to open. Up our eyes so that we may see. Open up our ears so that we. May hear your goodness in our life. Your goodness is always present. It has never lived our lives. In fact, it is following us everywhere that we go. And your goodness is perfect. Your goodness is unstoppable. Your goodness is present, and it's steady. So, Father, let us see your goodness everywhere that we go. And in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. So there you have it. Your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend, leave a comment or review for us on the app you're using right now.
00:05:56.862 --> 00:06:01.494
Until tomorrow, we pray that your latte is strong, but your love for Jesus is stronger.
