Values: Identity

Values: Identity

Have you ever found yourself caught up in the whirlwind of politics and the economy? In today's episode, host Stephanie Muiña explores the foundation of identity and values through the lens of faith. She shares personal insights from her current journey of house hunting in Miami, reflecting on the importance of grounding our identity in God rather than the ever-shifting world around us. Stephanie emphasizes that while governments and economies play a role in our lives, it is God who truly provides and knows the desires of our hearts. By anchoring ourselves in God’s unwavering love and provision, we can find peace amidst uncertainty.

Join Stephanie and the My Morning Devotional community in prayer and devotion, as we seek divine wisdom and trust in God to guide our futures and strengthen our faith.

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1223. Today's Devo is called Values Identity. Hey there. We're the Alessi's a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.120 --> 00:00:31.856
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning, everybody. Happy Wednesday.

00:00:32.008 --> 00:00:57.613
This is Stephanie and I am very excited to continue in our conversation about our value found in Jesus. On Monday, I spoke about our gifting. On Tuesday, I talked about our value in parenthood for those of us that have kids. Well, today I'd love to dive into our identity and how we can build our value around our identity. Some backstory.

00:00:57.661 --> 00:01:33.652
My husband and I, we are currently looking for a house and in Miami, it's almost impossible. We live in Miami and it is a very different culture right now and to buy a house is very, very tough. So pray for us. I will be sharing more of that. I'll keep you guys in the loop of our journey in finding a house. And honestly, what that's caused me to do is to stay very in tune with our economy and what our current administration is, the decisions they're making, because it changes every single day where our economy is going.

00:01:33.835 --> 00:01:37.043
And for some of you, this may relate, some of you, it doesn't, it's fine.

00:01:37.171 --> 00:02:20.746
But one day it will impact you. Sooner or later, it's coming to catch you. And I found myself getting very swept up in the mood swings of politics and the economy. However, we do have to remember that our value as Christians and our identity is not determined by a political party or an administration. No government, no administration, no office provides for me. God is who provides for me. No economy, no interest rate, no bank, no loan, nothing provides for me except God.

00:02:20.937 --> 00:02:32.074
And I cannot get swept up. I can't allow my identity to get swept up in the mood swings of what that world preaches, of what that world speaks about.

00:02:32.241 --> 00:02:35.689
My identity, who I am is found in God.

00:02:35.849 --> 00:02:39.370
And he's my provider. He's my caretaker.

00:02:39.530 --> 00:02:49.228
Now, let's be realistic. The government does provide a little bit. I do need the bank to give me a loan for a house in the future. That is a very true thing. But Jesus says in Mark

00:02:49.283 --> 00:02:56.319
17, then Jesus said to them, give back to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's.

00:02:56.740 --> 00:03:44.050
So I give the government, my vote, my taxes and my feedback and my opinions. But I give God my future. I give God my heart. I give God my life, I give God my children, I give God my homes. I give God all of my prayers about the future and no one else can provide for me like God can. I don't trust anybody like I trust God. Because God protects me. He knows the desires of my heart. He knows me. He knows my needs. He knows my family's needs and that is the greatest person I can follow in this season. The victory or the failure of our government does not determine my joy and my value.

00:03:44.349 --> 00:04:39.610
God is the ruler of my life and he holds my future. God is the ruler of your life. Allow him to hold your future today. I hope that you were able to hear this with grace because I just want to encourage all of you. Don't get swept up in the arguments of the world. Don't get caught up in the emotions of it. Just hold on to Jesus. He brings you all the joy you need. He brings you all the security you need. He is the greatest person to put your confidence and hope in because he knows you. He's called you by your name. He calls you son and he calls you daughter. Now just trust Him. Trust what he does with our world and with our futures. He knows what's best for us. So you can find your value in Jesus. The One who never changes and the One who never sways. He loves you and he sees value in you.

00:04:39.730 --> 00:05:02.196
Let's pray. God we thank you for how you take care of us and our families. We thank you for how you take care of our finances, how you take care of our homes, how you take care of all of the needs that we have to provide for our homes. You know the innermost parts of of our families and our hearts and our homes. God.

00:05:02.307 --> 00:05:28.139
So we trust you with that. You are our provider. You are our caretaker. We give you our future. We give you our house. We give you our children. We give you our lives. We give you our souls. God give us peace in return as we walk forward knowing that the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and our minds. In your name and in Jesus name we all pray. Amen and Amen.

00:05:28.800 --> 00:05:49.560
So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
