Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Colossians 1:11 which says " being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience"
"This verse today solidifies a truth that I talk about in the book. The source of our strength is God himself. Our strength gives us endurance and patience. It’s what allows us to become disciplined. It allows us to keep going when we don’t want to. Why? Well because the habits we are trying to form, they start with our identity and our identity is in Christ.
If he is the source of our strength, we know we have a never ending supply of strength. God doesn’t get tired. He doesn’t take a break. He is always there. He isn’t emotional, or moody. He doesn’t feel like supplying us with strength on January 1st and then runs out of strength on January 18th. The best part of this verse is that we are being strength according to him, so that you may have great endurance. Meaning when we get tired, all we have to say is “Hey Jesus, I need more strength to get through this mental block, to get though this relational block, to get through this physical block, to get through this spiritual block. When we realize our strength comes from him, we can walk into a life where our endurance is on his doing, not on our doing.
This could truly be your year, when you understand that he is the source of our strength meaning we don’t have to do this alone."
