You're listening to the my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1072. Today's Devo is called working and waiting. Hey there.
00:00:10.502 --> 00:00:47.125
We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Well, good morning. We're going to be talking about working and waiting today on this wonderful Tuesday. Maybe you're on the way to work right now, and you're like, the last thing I want to hear about is work, Gabby. Well, I think we should dive into it a little bit, and I hope it encourages you.
00:00:47.198 --> 00:01:12.561
Today, like we said on the last couple of podcasts, we are trying something new. It's new for us, it's not new for you. So if this is Gabby, I'm by myself on the podcast this week hosting you. So I hope you enjoy. Let us know how you're liking this new plan, this new layout. Let us know if you like it. Let us know if you miss all of us together, because it is a little bit emptier here in the podcast booth.
00:01:12.745 --> 00:01:16.346
But I also can feel the Holy Spirit is really stirring up some.
00:01:16.498 --> 00:01:31.823
Some really good spiritual nuggets. So I hope today's encourages you. We're reading from Isaiah 40 31, and this is such a beautiful verse. It says this, even youth shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted.
00:01:31.951 --> 00:01:35.528
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength.
00:01:35.664 --> 00:01:42.780
They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.
00:01:43.079 --> 00:01:53.560
Personally, I'm in my own little season of I don't want to fully call it waiting because people might not see it as waiting, but on my end, I'm in a season of waiting.
00:01:54.019 --> 00:03:40.747
But I had a perspective shift, especially when I was reading this, because this verse was talking about how those that wait on the Lord, they shall renew their strength. And I thought it was interesting, because if someone's just waiting and chilling at the house and just sitting and waiting, you're not really expending a lot of energy, which means you don't need to renew your strength. If you're just sitting, if you're just chilling, waiting on someone to come pick you up, let's just say you're not expending anything. You're not losing any energy, you're not physically doing anything in order to renew your strength. Nobody has to renew you because you've just been sitting there. So I feel like with this verse, it's speaking to those that are not just waiting, but they're working. In the wait. I'm there are people that are expending a lot of spiritual energy, or they're expending even a lot of physical energy. They are doing a lot from nine to five or from Monday all the way to Sunday. They're working hard and still they're not seeing the outcome. Still they might not be seeing the reward that they're waiting for. They might not see the answered prayer right away. They might not see the financial breakthrough, but they're working for it. They're working and waiting. And I feel like this is such a beautiful verse that sticks out to me of God's going to renew our strength. Those that work and wait. When you work, while you wait, God will renew your strength. If you're just sitting back and waiting, there's no strength to renew. When you're working and you're waiting, God gets excited to renew your strength. God's strength is so much greater than ours. It even refers to the youth that youth can even handle, what God can handle.
00:03:40.924 --> 00:03:47.963
Youth can't carry the load that God can carry. And so this excites me. And so here's a couple things that I want to challenge you today.
00:03:48.092 --> 00:03:59.355
If you're waiting, how about you work while you wait? How do you work? What's in front of you? If you're on your way to work right now, that's what's in front of you today. Work hard at your job.
00:03:59.508 --> 00:04:25.720
What can you do with this time that you're waiting? Don't let this waiting season go wasted. Don't waste the time that you have. If you have kids at home and you are waiting for God to bless you with a new season or financial breakthrough, what can you do with your kids at home right now in this waiting season? If you're waiting for marriage, what can you do in the waiting season of marriage? Can you grow a business? Can you go back to school? Can you finish school?
00:04:25.839 --> 00:04:41.274
If you're waiting for a baby, what work can you do? What's in front of front of you that you can do right now to build this time to build during this season? What is in front of you so you can work while you wait? I'm going to pray for you today.
00:04:41.322 --> 00:05:20.730
Lord, we just thank you for today. I pray that you bless all the listeners, those that are in a waiting season. God, maybe some of them are in a working season and a wait season. God, I pray right now that you would renew their strength. Lord. I pray that if they feel like they're just still and waiting on you, that you would give them new dreams, new desires, new ideas and opportunities to run after and work hard for. God, you've given us the ability to work. You call us God. You command us to go out and work. So while we're waiting on you, I pray that you give them all the strength to work hard and wait. We thank you for it. In Jesus name, amen.
00:05:21.600 --> 00:05:25.079
So there you have it, your five minute daily dose of heaven.
00:05:25.199 --> 00:05:42.439
