00:00:08.425 --> 00:00:29.635
Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast.
00:00:30.135 --> 00:00:33.662
Good morning, everybody. Stephanie Muna here. Happy Tuesday.
00:00:33.838 --> 00:03:59.064
And we are going to continue in our Bible reading of Luke and the story of Jesus. So let's dive into it. I'm reading from the New American Standard Bible Version or New American Bible Standard. Nasb, that's I know the acronym for it. That's the version that I will be reading from. And let's dive into it. It's Luke 2, 15, 20. And it says, when the angels had departed from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, let's go straight to Bethlehem then and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us. And they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph and the baby as he lay in the manger. When they had seen him, they made known the statement which had been told them about this child. And all who heard it were amazed about the things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds went back glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as had been told them. And I also want to mention Isaiah 9, 6, 7 from the NASB version that says, for a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us, and the government will rest on his shoulders and his name will be called. Wonderful counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Amen. I want to share something personally with you guys today that I'm sure you can all relate. We love Christmas, we love the holidays, but it has got to be one of the most stressful seasons during the year, maybe the most stressful. You could be going through your own personal issues right now, be it your health, your finances, your job. This is when the pressure really starts to cook up. And finances could be tight because you have to pay for gifts and you have to travel and the planning gets overwhelming because there is just so much to do and you're trying to use up every bit of your time with friends, family, and you Sometimes feel like it's too much time at work, too much time with family. I totally understand this season. My husband and I, we were struggling with that pressure just this morning. But in the car on the way to work, I was feeling a little stressed. We were all feeling stressed. So I went and I turned on Bless God by Brooke Ligarwood. And it's just a song about worshiping God and blessing the Lord. And the chorus goes, bless God in the sanctuary Bless God with the praise that cost me Bless God when nobody's watching Every chance I get I'll bless your name. And my husband and I immediately just felt the peace of God enter our car. And we both just started singing, looking out the window. He's driving. Of course he's looking, he's driving. But we're both just sitting there worshiping God. You know these shepherds, when they had met Jesus and they saw him in a manger, they decided along their way to just worship him. So how can we worship Him? Even in these high stressful moments, we can remind our spirit. We can lift up his name and call him the wonderful counselor, the mighty God, the eternal Father, my Prince of peace. So no matter what it is you may be facing today, don't forget along the way.
00:03:59.405 --> 00:04:25.607
Worship him, glorify him. Make him the center of your day. And you make him the center by just reminding yourself of who he is. He is that wonderful counselor that guides you whenever you need Him. He's that mighty God that's immovable and stronger than any problem in your life. He's the eternal Father so we can be his children. We're protected by him and he's our Prince of Peace.
00:04:25.750 --> 00:05:03.105
So we don't have to live in stress or anxiety. In the high pressured Christmas season. We live in peace because of the Prince of Peace that guides us. Let's pray. God, we're going to worship you right now. You are my wonderful counselor. You are my mighty God. You are my eternal Father, my Prince of peace. Even though, Father, this season is hard, even though I'm feeling disappointed by unmet expectations, disappointed by bad news, I am stressed out because of the high pressured season.
00:05:03.264 --> 00:05:36.812
I'm going to say right now that God, have your way in my Christmas season. And Holy Spirit, come into my heart as I go about this Christmas season. The Prince of Peace is by my side. The Eternal Father guides me so I can walk in joy in this Christ Christmas season. But I will worship on the way. I will glorify you every minute of my day. Whenever I start to feel stressed I remind my spirit to worship you and to lift up your name so that I can have an amazing Christmas season.
00:05:36.949 --> 00:06:00.884
And in Jesus name I pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take take on your day.
